The Calumet 4x5 is one of the best-built monorail cameras ever produced. It was made for over 50 years under various labels including Kodak, Orbit, Cambo and Calumet.

We see them often in Northern California largely because a film school call Brooks Academy required all students to purchase one.

It features ample movements, and locks down very tight. There is nothing more frustrating than spending time setting up your focus and camera movements only to have them shift out of place when you insert a film holder. Usually you have to buy a high-end camera to get this kind of stability.

While you cannot use a bag bellows for extremely wide lenses, the front and rear standards can be set very close together. With a recessed board you can use a 65mm with no problems.
