Three 35mm Film Cameras for Beginners

The best beginner 35mm film camera isn't necessarily the newest or most expensive. Instead, it's one that's reliable, easy to learn, and capable of producing excellent images while giving you room to take more creative control as you get the hang of the basics. After 80 years of selling cameras, here are three of our tried and true favorites.

Horseman SW617 Professional: Reviewing the Super Wide 6x17 Panoramic Film Camera

The Horseman SW617 Professional is a modular panoramic film camera that produces 6×17 cm negatives on 120 roll film. Often compared to the Linhoff Technorama 617 and Fuji GX617, the system supports a selection of Schneider and Rodenstock optics ranging from approximately 65mm to 180mm. We had the opportunity to run a few test rolls through a SW617 with a Rodenstock Grandagon-N 90mm f/6.8.

Hasselblad X-Pan- the Ultimate 35mm Panoramic Camera?

The Hasselblad Xpan (sometimes branded as Fujifilm TX-1 and TX-2) is a 35mm panoramic film camera in a class of it's own. It's compatible with three interchangeable Fujinon lenses and offers the ability to switch between panoramic and standard size frames mid-roll.
