Carl Zeiss 6.5cm (65mm) f/4.5 Tessar in Leica M39 Thread Mount RARE GOOD+

We could find no information on this lens. Leica catalogs do not show it....And we could also find no examples of this lens in any mount, let alone Leica thread.

We are surmising that this may be a one-off prototype that never made it into production.

The lens focuses smoothly. It couples with camera's rangefinder as it should. The lens does not collapse.

Condition is good; it shows some wear from use. Glass looks good with a few cleaning marks on the front and rear surfaces.

Please note that we tried to use it on a Sony mirrorless camera with a mount adapter but found that the infinity lock pin hits the adapter so it won't focus. If you were to file or mill a corresponding divot in the adapter where the pin hits it would be an easy remedy.
