Absolutely gorgeous rosewood and brass Tachihara 4x5. It is in immaculate condition showing almost no signs of use.
Bellows are in great shape. Camera has a very bright ground glass.
The lens is a razor-sharp Rodenstock 90mm f/6.8 Grandagon MC in a Copal 0 shutter. This is roughly equal to a 28mm lens on a 35mm camera.
Speeds sound accurate, glass is very clean.
Also included is a rare Tachihara extension bellows. This allows you to use super long lenses, and enables you do do extreme close-up macro work.
The Tachihara is a very light -weight 4x5 favored by backpackers and hikers. It weighs in at only 3.8 lbs.
It features ample movements, and can handle lenses from 75 to300mm with ease.
The camera was made in Japan from 300 - 500 year old cherrywood that was dried naturally for three to four years before becoming a camera.
Fittings are usually made of polished brass, though some have chrome plating.
