Rare Zeiss Jena Series IV Protarlinse Convertible Lens Set

Kit comes in a mahogany box. A dedicated Copal No. 3 shutter is included with proper scale markings. This is mounted in a Linhof Technika-style lens board.

This is a 6-element set with all brass barrels, each with serial numbers and and focal length. All of the glass are in excellent condition.

Barrels show some paint wear as expected for the age of the set.

Practical focal lengths are 133, 165, 190, 208, 230, 244, 277, 300, 350,430 and 500mm. Three step-rings are included to allow you to attach modern filters.

The case has a chart on the top indicating combined element and singlet length; f/8 using using both front and rear elements, and f/12 using single elements. The chart includes all focal length f/stop combinations given in millimeter to match the Copal 0' shutter's special F-stop scale.

This set was designed for 5x7 and 4x5 format cameras.

We see Protar two or three lens sets occasionally; we have never seen such a complete set as this and don't think you'll find another.
